How to tell if a domain name is available

Open your browser and type in www.(name you wish to use).com to see if a website is

displayed. In the following example I typed in www.abc-dental-practice.com into my

browser.

When I hit enter, the following window appeared in my browser telling me that there

was no website associated with this domain name. Although you can’t be 100% certain,

you can be 99% certain that the domain name is available to purchase.

You should then enter the domain name you wish to purchase into the sign-up form.

Note:

If the domain name is already taken you might want to add your city or state to the end

of the name and see if it is available. See examples below:

SmithDentalPractice-Boston

SmithDentalPracticeDetroit

SmithDentalPractice-Texas
